Compensation
$24 per hourJob Summary
Under direct supervision, assists the Accounting/Finance team in carrying out various accounting programs and procedures as part of the company’s internship program. Sully-Miller’s internship program is crafted to provide first-hand exposure to industry operations, as well as 1:1 mentorship and networking opportunities to students in order to supplement college educational programs in the areas of business, engineering, and construction management. Students in the program will have the opportunity to be a part of Sully-Miller’s intern class of 2024, which will include shared classes, jobsite visits and celebrations with interns from multiple departments of our organization. They will contribute to company goals through completion of focused project work, and apply concepts learned in the classroom to business operations.Main Responsibilities
As part of the internship program, the accounting intern will gain exposure to financial, accounting, and business processes, including, but not limited to:Adopt the Company's safety culture, and actively support all safety initiativesSupport, promote, and practice the Company core values, vision, and mission; follow code of ethics, workplace conduct, safety, and other established policiesAssist with month end and quarterly closings, financial reporting, and budgetingAssist with accounts receivable, payable, and bank statement reconciliationsAssist with Balance Sheet reconciliationsPerform data entry into accounting systems such as JD Edwards, Citrix/HeavyJob, ADRA, and OnBaseParticipate in various Special Projects as directed by the Controllers, Payroll Manager or CFOAssist the Accounting department with other general accounting functionsPerform other duties as assignedEducation
Current enrollment in a relevant degree program, including accounting, finance, or business administrationSkills
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferredA basic understanding of Accounting principlesThe ability to work well with all levels of the organizationA demeanor for making continuous improvements of department processesColas Inc. and its subsidiaries are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
