About this roleUdemy is in the process of reimplementing Workday to support the growth & scale for the company. The successful candidate for this role will need to have an entrepreneurial mindset, strong communication skills, excellent critical thinking skills and will be responsible for building trust with its stakeholders as the group transitions into a dramatically improved Workday experience.
About your skills
Workday Expertise and HR Systems Knowledge : You have in-depth experience with multiple Workday modules, especially Payroll and Absence, and are familiar with HR SaaS tools like Greenhouse or Lever, as well as XML and JSON.
Project Management and Collaboration : You excel at managing the full project lifecycle, from discovery to deployment, and work effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., Benefits, Finance, Payroll) to ensure successful outcomes.
Critical Thinking and Process Optimization : You identify trends and drive process improvements to optimize HR technology, adopting new features to enhance employee experiences.
Communication and Stakeholder Management : You build strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring alignment and trust, while also mentoring team members and advocating for customer needs.
What you'll be doing
Collaborating with our people team and IT on how to best use Workday at Udemy to build an employee centric engagement model across multiple modules in Workday.
Take ownership of discovery, requirements, testing and deployment within Workday and be a subject matter expert in at least two modules of Workday (Payroll and Absence highly preferred)
Own development of Payroll and Time Off Solutions for Udemy globally
Assess and drive new feature adoption in people systems through developing and owning product roadmap in collaboration with business partners
Partner with other internal departments such as Benefits, Compensation, Finance, Payroll, and Equity to ensure data accuracy and drive engaging employee experiences through continuous improvement
Identify trends and initiate process improvements with team/manager to support and improve employee experience and create process optimization
Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, testing, validation, and overall system performance, including regression testing and support ongoing process improvement activities to bring greater efficiency to HR technology processes
Understanding the business process of the customer and playing the role of advocate for customer needs and mentor junior team members in functionality, project management, and system improvement.
What you'll have
Demonstrated 7+ years experience in developing HR processes and technology
Functional experience with multiple Workday modules primarily Workday Payroll and Payroll Interface
Exposure to Greenhouse or Lever ATS and other HR SaaS based solutions
Experience and understanding of basic XML and JSON data structures
Experience influencing cross functional working groups in order to deliver on projects
