This requisition may be filled at the Principal or Sr Principal level based on requirements listed below.

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal or Senior Principal Configuration Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role can be in San Diego or Palmdale, CA with priority given to those currently located at one of these locations.

In this System Engineering role, you will plan and coordinate preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met. You'll also review contracts to determine documentation required for each phase of the project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes. Coordinating modification records for management control and establishing change orders will also be a critical part of your role, preparing for change authorization and documentation by the company and subcontractors. Finally, we will want your review and analysis in released engineering change data and to coordinate changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities.

Essential Functions:

Support Laboratory Configuration Audits

Conduct Lab Audits - serve as the primary audit member for the CDM team

Follow and Update established audit procedures

Ensure compliance to those procedures, coordinated with Design Engineering, Mission Assurance, and other necessary functions.

Evaluate conformance between actual and intended configuration baseline

Document all findings to drive closure/correction as required.

Conduct configuration audits of Supplier elements.

Support Formal document releases as required.

Facilitate formal Data deliveries, primarily Incoming deliveries.

Work with internal customers to meet document delivery dates.

Interface with suppliers as required to receive and transmit program data.

Basic Qualifications:

Principal Configuration Analyst:

Must have a Bachelor’s degree AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in Configuration Management, OR a Master’s degree AND 3 years of related professional/military experience in Configuration Management, OR a Ph.D. AND related professional/military/academic experience in Configuration Management, OR High School diploma/equivalent and 9 years of related professional/military experience in Configuration Management in lieu of a degree

Sr. Principal Configuration Analyst:

Must have a Bachelor’s degree AND 8 years of related professional/military experience in Configuration Management, OR a Master’s degree AND 6 years of related professional/military experience in Configuration Management, OR a Ph.D. AND related professional/military/academic experience in Configuration Management, OR High School diploma/equivalent and 12 years of related professional/military experience in Configuration Management in lieu of a degree

Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance for consideration (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment

Must have previous Aerospace Industry experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Direct CDM Domain Experience

Experience with Configuration Status Accounting

Experience with Configuration Verification Audits

Knowledge of NGAS Company, and CDM Industry Standards, including ASME Y14, MIL-HDBK-61, SAE GEIA-859 and SAE EIA-649.

Familiar with NGC CDM Engineering and Production tools, including TeamCenter, SharePoint, and SAP/MES

Salary Range:

$88,700 - $133,100

Salary Range 2:

$109,900 - $164,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
