The Compensation Programs Manager is the company’s compensation and benefits programs’ principal source of data analytics. This role analyzes data and financial aspects of employee benefits and compensation programs. The analyst will be a vital member of the HR team, collaborating with finance, legal, and other departments as appropriate. The Total Rewards Business Analyst is responsible for ensuring accurate reporting and compliance related to benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks. This individual will be responsible for data analysis for our global programs. The incumbent will also be required to focus on US 401(k) and self-insured programs. This position reports to the HR Vice President, Total Compensation.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Oversee the financial operations related to employee benefits programs.
Manage benefit plan budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting related to US self-insured plans.
Reconcile and/or participate in the timely funding of benefit-related expenses (401(k), self-insured plans, spending accounts, Leaves of Absence payments).
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with global benefits programs.
Monitor federal, state, and local regulations related to US employee benefits.
Monitor industry trends and legislative changes to maintain compliance and competitiveness.
Prepare and file necessary regulatory reports and documentation related to benefits.
Assist in internal and external benefit audits.
Assist with the 401(k) Non-Discrimination Testing and audit processes, and in particular, owning the Financial Statements.
Knowledge of SOX compliance.
Data Analysis:
Analyze and interpret benefits data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
Gather, analyze, and report on compensation and benefits data to support decision-making processes.
Generate financial reports and provide insights to support decision-making.
Evaluate the financial impact of benefits programs, and identify trends.
Compensation Analysis:
Analyze and interpret compensation data to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.
Assist with the preparation of compensation-related sections of regulatory filings, including proxy statements.
Benefits Administration:
Assist in administering employee benefits programs, such as health insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and other perks.
Conduct regular audits of benefits programs to ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
Analyze benefits utilization and costs to recommend plan modifications and improvements.
Process Improvement and Project Management:
Develop and enhance procedures for benefit accounting and reporting.
Implement best practices and streamline processes to increase efficiency.
Provide training and support to HR and finance team members on benefits-related financial topics.
Participate in and lead total rewards-related projects and initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and optimize total rewards programs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
5 years of experience in compensation and benefits analysis or a related HR or Finance role.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis and HR tools (e.g., Excel, Workday, ADP, Papaya).
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Knowledge of compensation, benefits regulations, best practices, and 401k reporting requirements is mandatory. Prior experience with self-insured medical programs is a definite plus.
Certification in Compensation (e.g., CCP), benefits (e.g., CEBS), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is expected.
Skills
Exceptional data analytical and problem-solving skills.
In-depth expertise in spreadsheet creation, management, and presentation are minimal requirements. If you aren’t an expert in Excel, this position is not for you.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
Strong organizational and project management abilities.
Proficiency in Workday and other relevant software applications is expected.
Knowledge of statistical analysis and data reporting.
The compensation range reflects the Company’s good faith belief at the time of posting. 8x8 has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role; the applicable base pay range will depend on what ultimately is determined to be the candidate’s primary work location. Further, individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience, knowledge, success, education and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including discretionary merit increases, bonus and/or stock. Certain roles have the opportunity to earn sales variable compensation incentives based on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
Salary Ranges: $140,250.00 - $233,750.00
