The Fundraising Specialist, Development plays an instrumental role to achieve fundraising goals for the Alzheimer’s Association Northern CA Northern NV Chapter. Primarily supporting the Walk to End Alzheimer’s (WTEA) and the Longest Day (TLD), the Association’s signature fundraising events, this position supports the Chapter’s gala and other revenue activities.RESPONSIBILITIES:Luminate database managementDevelops and analyzes reports to strategically inform fundraising and cultivation plansKey contributor to solving internal and external customer concerns and issuesManages Chapter-wide e-communications and audience segmentation in LuminateGenerates leads and actively solicits (and recruits) new sponsors (and teams) in coordination with Walk Managers and respective Company Engagement and Team Recruitment Committees, resulting in participation and revenue increasesActively researches and recruits leads (participants and teams) for The Longest Day in collaboration with Constituent Events Managers, resulting in participation and revenue increasesTakes an active role in planning Chapter Relationship Events including supporting Gala Committee, auction catalog descriptions, organization and presentation of itemsActively solicits and secures sponsorship and table sales for Chapter Relationship eventsLeads prospect research and analytics on key constituents on behalf of Chapter Walk teamBuild and maintain sponsorship and budget tracking for Walk program, including managing unconfirmed sponsorship collectionLeads Chapter implementation for event platforms and virtual event experience execution (i.e. Givesmart, Zoom Webinar)Leads Chapter-wide team challenge operational coordinationCoordinates and provides follow-up for Walk Staff meetingsCoordinates with Donor Services and Finance to track and manage matching gifts and vendor paymentsProvides day-of event support for Gala and attends a minimum of 2 Walk to End Alzheimer’sLeads all procurement efforts for orders of items pertaining to events, including vendor selection and negotiation, specific to national brand guidelines and requirements (i.e. banners, signage for Walk and Gala)Responsible for registration and donor check out for Gala eventQualifications:Bachelor's Degree; Business, Marketing/Communications Preferred or equivalent experienceTwo to three years' experience in direct marketing, peer-to-peer fundraising or similar rolesVolunteer development and management, public relations, donor cultivation and relations, corporate sponsor cultivation and relations.Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel/Office suiteExperience with Google SuiteExperience creating and managing CRM marketing and fundraising campaigns on platforms such as Luminate, Blackbaud, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Team Approach or DonorPerfect.Expert organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skillsProven success prioritizing and managing competing projects, data sets, and varying detailsProven ability to maintain data security and confidentialityExcellent written and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to work with vendors such as graphic artists, printers, merchandise businesses, caterers, etc. to deliver special events collateral materialsMust possess basic accounting skills and principlesAbility to travel as needed throughout the Chapter Area with a driver’s license, auto insurance, and a reliable vehicleAbility to lift items up to 20 poundsProficient with MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Google Suite, internetExcellent organizational skillsAbility to work with diverse communities and demonstrate inclusivenessKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Outgoing, Positive, Engaging and EnthusiasticSelf-starter, able to work independently and problem-solve, willing to take initiative Strong ability to self-manage with significant strength in time managementAbility to work on a team and develop relationshipsDetail-oriented, efficient, and ability to multitaskSensitivity to working with older adults and ability to work compassionately with persons with dementia or memory lossStrong listening skills; friendly, helpful manner with clients.Team Collaboration:Employees are expected to adopt the mission of the organization in their daily work and to professionally represent the Association outside of work.Staff are expected to work as a team to accomplish, if not exceed, organizational goals as detailed in the National Strategic Plan.
