Job DescriptionThe Role:
We are seeking a Senior Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis to support finance business partnering activities to the Clinical, US Medical, and Regulatory teams. The Senior Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis will be responsible for monthly close activities and partnering with business owners to develop quarterly reforecasts and annual budget.
This position will report to the Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis and be located in the Waltham, MA office.
What You’ll Do:
Partner with budget owners to provide value-added financial analysis and support of business reviews and decisions from the financial perspective, including but not limited to operational efficiency and cost saving opportunities
Collaborate with budget owners to build annual budget and quarterly reforecasts for external expenses
Drive month-end close activities by working in close collaboration with the Clinical, US Medical, Regulatory, and accounting teams to develop accruals and improve accrual processes
Manage to Board of Directors approved annual budget, including facilitating tradeoff discussions in collaboration with other FP&A team members as business priorities change
Lead analysis of financial results versus plan and forecasts, investigations of significant variances, and communication of findings to departments, program teams, and senior management
Proactively identify areas for operational efficiencies and lead change management and process improvement activities
Qualifications
What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required
2-3+ years of experience in FP&A and/or accounting in the biopharmaceutical industry required
Experience with Financial planning systems. Oracle Fusion and Financial Planning tool (Adaptive Planning) experience preferred
Experience with accruals related to clinical study related costs, including CRO and investigator grants strongly preferred
CPA strongly preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to combine attention to detail with big picture perspective
Well-developed collaboration and communication skills a must
Ability to work independently under general guidance, take initiative and complete tasks to deadlines
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize needs effectively
