Position OverviewThe National Sales Director builds relationships and provides strategic direction to help the Company grow profitably. Consistently seeks out and identifies new business opportunities in the areas of Service, Remanufacturing, Installation, as well as the entire portfolio of Wanzl Products to meet or exceed the corporate objectives. Focuses on building and guiding relationships both internally and externally with sales and marketing teams, vendors and distributors, and potential / existing customers. Mentors, Coaches and Trains all personnel reporting to this position.

Additionally, WNA is active in building a “digital” business line with products for shopping cart containment, smart exit gate technology, and solutions for autonomous and/or semi-autonomous retail stores.WNA is part of the Wanzl group, headquartered in Germany, and has 12 plants in 8 countries, providing comprehensive, solutions-driven service and expert knowledge of local markets for customers across the globe through their 360° service.Duties and Responsibilities:Identify opportunities to grow new and develop current client relationships to advance the business. Actively seek to open new markets via methods to enhance efficiency within the organization’s sales and marketing areas.Prepare and present sales meetings, pipeline reviews and trade shows by providing creative, thoughtful, strategic ideas for new ways to expand business opportunities in current and new service channels.Work with marketing to develop and make sales presentations, close sales in a professional and effective manner.
Travel and make sales calls with the team to develop relationships and assist with follow up on leads.
Prepare and update all prospect/client documents (proposals, introduction letters, service agreements, scopes of work, Non-Disclosure Agreements, etc.) using templates and marketing materials to maintain consistency in communications and branding.
Ensure the sales team works with the prospect’s / client’s appointed contact to gather all required information and documentation.Prepare information for requests for proposals (RFPs)
Ensure the sales team maintains the sales pipeline; updates prospect notes and logs regularly.Manage customer relations as needed to increase the business’s visibility and reputation.
Communicate the features and benefits of Wanzl ProductParticipate in the development and delivery of client recap presentations as needed.Management of Service Agreement issues during contract periodAttend launch meetings.Regular communications following Client Relationship guidelines.
Support Operations planning by working closely with Sales Enablement to improve operations planning and overall efficiency.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry /business trends and competitors.Effectively hire, manage, and develop a sales team to achieve budget and growth goals.
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree, or comparative work experience in a related field, such as business administration or marketing.Experience in sales and marketing with a proven record of success and expertise in related activities and business principles; solid understanding of gross margin and pricing strategies.Excellent relationship development and management skills to build both internal and external relationships.Strategic planning to develop and enact long-term growth strategies; use a high-level view of company goals and objectives to drive business growth.Operations enhancement; able to enhance efficiency and collaboration between business lines.Familiarity with sales and marketing software, analytics tools, and the ability to adapt to new technologies is important.In-depth knowledge of CRM software is crucial, with knowledge on how to use CRM tools to track customer interactions, sales pipelines, and performance metrics.Demonstrated presentation skills as adapted to the audience; speaks clearly and confidently.Use market knowledge and retail experience to move prospects through the sales process to uncover pain, budget, decision makers, obstacles, and value.Effective time management skills; adaptable to changing priorities.Creative, critical thinking skills to arrive at better collaborative outcomes.
