The Claims Resolution Specialist will support the branch offices and the Corporate Claims and Legal teams to assist in the evaluation, investigation, negotiation, documentation filing, and collecting of cargo claims made necessary by the company’s exposure to carrier cargo claims. This position requires a great deal of direction and independent thought, as well as experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. If this is you, or you like a challenge– let’s talk.You will:Receive and review cargo claims from branch officesInvestigate the circumstances surrounding each claim, including reviewing documentation, interviewing involved parties, and assessing damagesDocument findings and maintain accurate records of claims status and resolution progressServe as the primary point of contact for our customers and carriers regarding cargo claimsCommunicate claim status updates and resolutions to relevant stakeholders promptly and professionallyCollaborate with all parties including carriers, drivers, shippers, receivers, and insurance companies to gather necessary information and documentation for claim resolutionNegotiate claim settlements with carriers and insurers, striving to achieve the best possible outcome for our customers and branch officesMaintain a balance between advocating for our customers and branch office interests while attempting to preserve positive relationships with carriersAnalyze claim trends and identify root causes of cargo damage or lossDevelop and implement preventive measures to minimize future claimsStay up-to-date on relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements related to cargo claimsEnsure all claim-related processes and documentation adhere to legal and regulatory standardsThis position is often required to be available on-call outside of normal work hours, throughout the night and/or weekends.Skills and Experience:Experience in cargo claims adjusting3-5 years of first-party physical damage claims in commercial truckingStrong knowledge of insurance principles, policies, and regulationsExcellent communication and negotiation skills, written and verbalDetail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsSelf-motivated, enthusiastic team player who excels in a fast-paced environmentRequires excellent analytical, organizational and decision-making skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentStrong Excel skillsEffective communication skillsExcellent work ethicExcellent time-management skills with the ability to multitaskHighly organized and detail-orientedJoin us in making a difference!
