Manager, Communications (TBD), Analyst, CommunicationsPosition Summary:The purpose of this role is to develop and implement communication strategies to ensure that Daikin’s efforts regarding environmental stewardship, sustainability, and employment are publicized and known to consumers, government policymakers, and NGOs. A key activity of this position will involve close coordination with Daikin’s North American Business Units and Daikin’s headquarters to implement communication strategies that highlight the benefits of Daikin’s core technologies and efforts to contribute to mitigating the impacts of climate change and overall environmental protection efforts. Specific activities will include the day-to-day management of North American corporate communications, development of official messaging, providing coaching and talking points for relevant Business Unit managers and executives on media inquiries, as well as working with marketing and branding professionals to help shape press releases. Overall, this position requires a proactive individual who will focus on ensuring that there is positive messaging and discussions regarding Daikin’s business in North America.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:As a member of the senior management, educating and supporting both within DUS members as well as external vendors on Daikin’s philosophy, core values, vision, etc.Development, negotiation, refinement, and execution of mid and long-term strategic plans to support Daikin’s advocacy and market access objectives.Demonstrating business and communication acumen to develop credibility, loyalty, trust, and commitment with all partners, influencers, and stakeholders.Focusing on building network and relationships with key stakeholders in the business and communications arena.Develop and maintain relationships with management, executives, other business units, and media outlets. Serve as a liaison between DIL and business units to create seamless, consistent strategy and messages.Research and analyze target markets to develop strategic and tactical plans to grow the awareness of Daikin and core technologies.Plan, direct and set the strategic direction of marketing and business development initiatives within an organization.Develop pricing strategies and media relations plan, balancing firm objectives and satisfaction.Develop seamless strategy for advocating, through communications, our ESG and SDG commitments and our core technologies consistently and effectively across North America; create brand recognition for these technologies.Create and nurture a formal communications practice that integrates communication activities across divisions, ensuring they are consistent and reflect the organization’s strategic vision.Prepare keynote speeches and communications content for promotional events.Lead the production of content (videos, photography, written content) for consistent use on DUS’s owned properties, plan for future social media community strategy and management.Set objectives for the communications team and monitor and assess team members’ performance.Develop DUS Public Relations Practice:Develop the public relations function in Daikin US, incorporating Daikin technologies, environmental visions, and public policy activities; set up PR team with internal and external partners.Support North American business units with understanding DUS’s corporate Public Relations direction and ensure consistency in its application.Develop connection plan and content to support lobbying and PR messaging.Coordinate with media companies and engage a PR agency as the demands increase.Responsible for other duties as assigned.Competencies:

Tasks require quick and immersive intake of new subject matter; ideal candidate will be a fast learner with a willingness and ability to execute both short- and long-term projects. Position works across American and Japanese cultures and requires patience and accommodation to build this bridge.
