The role of the Event Marketing Manager & Public Representative:

The Event Marketing Manager & Public Representative will be responsible for planning, organizing, executing, and attending a broad range of events for departments across the company. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage all aspects of event logistics from start to finish, from vendor coordination to on-site setup and any travel necessary for events.

In this role, you will:

Lead the strategy, planning, organization, and execution of all events (virtual and in-person), including enterprise industry events, conferences, trade shows, and community events.

Collaborate with marketing and other team leaders to strategize for upcoming events, ensuring they are aligned with company and client objectives.

Be a spokesperson for Upwards at virtual and in-person events.

Be available to attend and travel to events the majority of the time (estimate: 75% of the role with majority of travel being in and out the same day and overnight trips), including accommodating last minute travel needs when necessary.

Coordinate event marketing and promotional materials to drive attendance and engagement.

Manage the coordination of several events simultaneously.

Build strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, key internal and external stakeholders to secure resources.

Oversee event set-up, production, and breakdown, ensuring processes run smoothly.

Conduct in-depth post-event evaluations to analyze success, gather feedback, and identify areas for improvement.

You'll excel at this role if you have:

3-5 years of experience leading event management/marketing, preferably for both B2C and B2B.

Proven experience planning and executing events from start to finish.

Extreme attention to detail to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet quick turnaround times and strict deadlines.

Nonstop creative thinking to brainstorm event strategies and ensure success for the audience attending (prospective clients, existing clients, families, caregivers, and/or government).

Public speaking experience, specifically with larger in-person audiences.

Knowledge of the childcare industry, HR, and employee benefits.

Previous startup experience, bonus if it has been in tech.

Excitement about working in a fast-paced, agile environment with a willingness to strategize and implement new processes.

A solution-oriented mindset, you are assertive, a quick thinker, and meticulous.

Exceptional communication and negotiation skills when working with external stakeholders and internal teams.

Experience with budget management, negotiating contracts, and working with vendors.

Expertise regarding event marketing techniques and best practices.

Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.

Salary Range: $70,000-85,000 yearly
