Position Overview:We are seeking a seasoned Criminal Defense Attorney to join our practice in Charleston, South Carolina. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience representing clients in criminal cases within South Carolina. This role requires a highly skilled attorney who can handle trials, draft motions and briefs, manage casework, and build strong client relationships. Key Responsibilities:Represent clients in criminal cases, providing strong legal defense throughout all stages of the case.Prepare for and conduct trials, demonstrating effective litigation skills.Draft, review, and file legal motions, briefs, and supporting documentation.Manage case files, ensuring accurate documentation and timely responses.Provide clear and supportive communication with clients, guiding them through each phase of the legal process.Conduct legal research and analysis to develop defense strategies.Collaborate with legal staff and other attorneys to enhance case preparation and defense tactics.Qualifications:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Active license to practice law in South Carolina and member in good standing with the state bar.Minimum of 5 years of experience in criminal defense, specifically within South Carolina.Proven trial experience and strong litigation skills.Proficiency in drafting motions, briefs, and other court filings.Excellent case management skills, with a keen eye for detail.Strong client communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
