Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) was created with the purpose of providing integrated enterprise IT support to Federal customers both CONUS and OCONUS. CARS employs Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with decades of experience working in the Federal marketplace.

The

Lead CMDB Administrator

is responsible for the development, management, and maintenance of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within the organization's ITIL framework.

Responsibilities

Ensure that all IT assets and their configurations are accurately recorded, managed, and maintained to support IT service management processes.

Develop and maintain the CMDB, ensuring all IT assets and configuration items (CIs) are accurately recorded.

Define and implement CMDB policies, processes, and procedures in alignment with ITIL best practices.

Regularly audit the CMDB to ensure data integrity and compliance with organizational standards.

Manage and document relationships between CIs and ensure that all dependencies and changes are accurately reflected in the CMDB.

Ensure proper version control and documentation of changes to CIs.

Coordinate with other ITIL process managers to ensure smooth integration of configuration management processes.

Conduct regular data validation and reconciliation activities to maintain the accuracy and completeness of the CMDB.

Identify and resolve discrepancies in the CMDB data.

Implement and manage automated tools for data discovery and CI tracking.

Work closely with IT service management, change management, and incident management teams to ensure the CMDB supports their processes.

Collaborate with IT asset management teams to synchronize asset and configuration data.

Provide CMDB training and support to end-users and stakeholders.

Generate and analyze reports on CMDB data to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.

Provide insights and recommendations based on CMDB data to optimize IT asset and configuration management.

Ensure CMDB compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Participate in internal and external audits related to configuration management.

Lead, manage, and mentor CMDB team.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years of relevant experience or Associate's degree and 11+ years of relevant experience or High School Degree and 13+ years of relevant experience.

Experience to include but not limited to:

Development, management, and maintenance of CMDB.

IT asset management.

ITIL framework and its application to configuration management.

ServiceNow.

ITIL Foundations Certification required within 6 months of hire; ITIL Management Certification desired.

Ability to obtain DoD 8570 IAT level II compliance within 6 months.

Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain CI Poly.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to think critically and solve complex issues.

Ability to manage a team of five or more.

Ability to work with other teams and stakeholders to ensure mission success.
