With an integrated suite of cloud-based solutions, Proofpoint helps companies around the world stop targeted threats, safeguard their data, and make their users more resilient against cyber-attacks.The RoleThe Proofpoint Tax Department is responsible for the assessment and review of the Company’s transactions as it relates to all forms of tax compliance as well as accounting for income taxes under US GAAP. We are looking for an experienced Tax Senior to assist in managing the Company’s daily tax operations.Assist with annual federal and state income tax compliance engagement with assistance of third-party consultants.Assist with the completion of global income tax provisions in accordance with US GAAP.Assist with preparation of monthly sales and indirect tax process and help manage sales tax compliance engagement with third-party consultants.Assist with completion of other tax related filings such as business property tax, gross receipts filings and annual reports.Understand Proofpoint products and monitor transactions to identify potential areas of tax risk or tax opportunity.Assist with special projects and initiatives (e.g. R&D Studies, refund opportunities, census, and due diligence on potential acquisitions) as assigned.Assist with responding to notices from the IRS and state taxing authorities.Conduct research on complex tax issues and provide recommendations.What you bring to the teamBachelor’s degree in accounting.CPA license is preferred.5+ years of progressive experience in either public accounting or a corporate tax department.Experience working on corporate multinational companies.Detailed understanding of corporate income tax compliance and accounting.Must be meticulous, detail oriented and organized.Ability to work independently and with across functional teams.Self-motivated.Have the ability to be flexible while working with time constraints and deadlines.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Simultaneously manage multiple projects.Why ProofpointProtecting people is at the heart of our award-winning lineup of cybersecurity solutions, and the people who work here are the key to our success.
