Responsibilities for this Position Machinist IIUS-CA-San DiegoJob ID: 2024-32815Type: Contract# of Openings: 1Category: Manufacturing and ProductionSan Diego, CAOverviewPOSITION FAMILY DESCRIPTIONInstalls, modif ies, moves, troubleshoots, repairs and dismantles machinery and equipment according torequisition documentation, layout plans, blueprints or other drawings " Prepares installation site byconstructing foundations and aligns and fastens machinery to the foundation using hoists, dollies, rollers,trucks, tools, squares, rules and micrometers " Performs operational tests on newly installed, modif ied,repaired and moved machinery and equipment to ensure that it meets technical specif ications " Fabricatesmetal parts for prototype equipment based on drawings " Programs PLCs (programmable logic controllers)Responsibilities Assists with the installation, operation, testing, and adjustment of various types ofconventional or automatic machines used to produce precision parts and instruments. Fabricates and modifies parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrialmachines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout,and machining procedures. Machines parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines,shapers, or grinders.
