As the Contract Photographer for our Creative Services team, you will temporarily support the team for approximately 5 months to cover a medical leave. In this role, you will play a crucial part in meeting the ongoing photography needs of our core product line of toys, which includes ALL divisions of the company. This includes capturing product, artistic, lifestyle, and event photography in both studio settings and outdoor natural lighting, as well as completing all photography assignments from capture to editing.
What will you do:
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand the unique features and design elements of our toy costumes and accessories, ensuring alignment with creative direction.Plan, execute, and edit high-quality product photography that effectively showcases the details, textures, and craftsmanship of our costume products at a high level of production and efficiency.Create visually engaging images for use in marketing materials, catalogs, online platforms, and social media channels, following established guidelines.Employ lighting techniques, composition skills, and post-processing expertise to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the product images.Follow and maintain a cohesive photographic style aligned with the company's brand identity and product positioning, based on existing brand guidelines.Assist with the setup of photography sets, working with the team to select appropriate props and arrange product displays to achieve the desired visual impact.Document job status in the project management system and organize digital assets in accordance with department guidelines.Process all files from raw for color adjustments and file type, naming files according to established conventions.Execute photo edits as needed.Please Note:
This position is a temporary assignment with the potential for extension or conversion to a full-time role depending on performance and business needs. Conversion not guaranteed.
What we are looking for:
Expert in operating DSLR or mirrorless cameras, lighting equipment, and photo editing software (Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.).A strong portfolio showcasing your skills in capturing product details and textures, particularly in the context of consumer products including in-package and out-of-package images with a focus on challenging items with special features like metallics, and translucent and highly reflective surfaces.High level of visual storytelling and the ability to convey a sense of creativity and playfulness through your images.Photo retouching including color correction, compositing, masking, resizing and optimizationExcellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.The ability to effectively manage high-volume workloads to optimize output.Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a collaborative approach to working within cross-functional teams.A passion for toys, costumes, and imaginative play is a plus.Knowledge of Sony camera setup and functions.
