Job DescriptionINTEGRATED OPERATIONS TECHNICIAN - PET (1st Shift)
This role is in the Pet department meat rooms focusing primarily on grinding, dicing, handling, and processing raw and cooked meat each day.
JOB DESCRIPTION:The Operations Technician role will serve the Pet platform, and other various platforms, specifically in the raw and cooked meat rooms (air-conditioned), and will perform setup, operations, and disassembly related to the Pet platform. Meat rooms may contain various odors.
RESPONSIBILITIES:•Safely operates equipment, understands food safety requirements, and ability to perform risk assessments•Basic analytical tests; basic troubleshooting; skill building on basic unit operations•Agile, ability to flex across teams within a platform as work needs shift•Equipment sanitation & basic equipment set up activities•Basic technical skills: product, process and/or packaging•Ability to consistently & repeatedly lift, manipulate & transport ingredients or equipment, up to 55 lbs.•This position is considered a flex position in that the employee would provide support to not just the Pet platform but can learn various operations for different business to build breadth of capabilities for future development.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:•High School Degree Required•3-5 years of directly relatable experience and / or 2-Year Degree Preferred•Steel Toe Boots/Shoes required•Ability to lift, manipulate, transport up to 55 lbs.•Basic computer/technology skills (Office Suite, other computer programs)•Strong communication skills with peers and with customers•Basic understanding of food safety and human safety•Ability to work in hot/warm/cool conditions within the plant•Ability to consistently & repeatedly lift, manipulate & transport ingredients or equipment, up to 55 lbs.**This position involves potential exposure to common allergens including but not limited to milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans, and sesame.**
SCHEDULE:This position is scheduled five days per week, 8 hours per day from the hours of 6AM - 2PM. Actual days of the work week, start times and end times may change based on business needs.•With advance notification, the candidate will be required to flex to a different shift or have different hours based on evolving business needs.•This candidate may be required to work up to 4 hours of overtime before or after their assigned shift and/or occasionally support 8-12 hours on the weekend.
PHYSICAL/OTHER POTENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:•Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net and gloves when required.•Ability to lift, manipulate and transport up to 55 lbs.•Ability to work in hot/warm/cool conditions within the plant•Ability to work with care around hazardous compounds/gases•Ability to climb up and down ladders/stairs and maintain three points of contact•Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including Standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting over surfaces.•Willing to use powered lifts (stackers, pallet jacks)•Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery•Willing and able to adhere to all safety standards•Willing and able to adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure Food Safety•This position involves potential exposure to common allergens including but not limited to milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soybeans, and sesame.•Ability to work around equipment that may have electromagnetic interferenceHours per Day 8 Hours per Week 40 Total Hours 1,160.00
