Annual Compensation Range ($USD):
89,475.00 - 121,184.00 paid on a bi-weekly basis. Individual pay is determined by the applicable CBA and related articles.
A Brief OverviewThe Senior Airfield Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting compliance matters related to operations on and off the airport AOA and supports the Airport Authority's Safety Management System (SMS) Program.
What you will doSupports with administering the Airport Authority's Safety Program to maintain compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations, including Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA), Department of Transportation and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) rules and regulations.Performs minimum standards audits and inspections for the Airport Authority. Develop performance criteria for measurement of compliance within the minimum standards. Provide recommendations to resolve non-compliant concerns.Supports department in alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and standards of conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures. Develops and oversees a system for uniform handling of such violationsSupports WCAA Safety Management-System (SMS) development, implementation, and evaluation to ensure program meets FAA regulatory Compliance and SMS best practicesCoordinates the removal of physical or chemical hazards from the workplace in conjunction with other WCAA support groupsAnalyze the organization's operational safety performance against the safety goals and objectivesDevelops risk mitigation action plans that involve responsibilities from each function of the SMS Group ensuring corrective action is being taken in a timely mannerMonitor the effectiveness of the WCAA quality assurance processes which independently validate the organization's safety performancePerforms other similar and related duties as required or directedQualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Aviation Management, Health and Safety, Business Analytics or closely related field5 or more years of full time progressively responsible 14CFR Part 139 management experience including comprehensive audits and inspections, implementing safety corrective actions and analyzing organization safety performance analyticsProficient with Office Suite Software (Core - Email, Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Presentation)WCAA Airfield Certification (Movement and Non-Movement Area) - within probationary periodValid Driver's License and safe, acceptable driving record
