Assistant Trust Officer

Partner with and provide overall support to Trust Officers to engage with Ultra High Net Worth clients to administer their trusts and achieve the client's specific trust and estate planning objectives.

Job RequirementsJointly manage a book of trust and estate accounts: types include revocable and irrevocable trusts, testamentary trusts, ILITS and IRA accounts, charitable trusts, estate accounts, and agency accounts, discretionary and directed.Provide superior client service and develop deep relationships with clients to best administer their trust accounts, generate solutions, and meet their investment objectives and distribution needs.Support the Trust Officer in serving as an excellent fiduciary on behalf of Citi for our clients while simultaneously identifying growth opportunities.Manage the new account opening process including review of all critical forms and documents, ensure proper funding, ensure that account has been opened with correct coding regarding statements, proxies, investments and tax, ensure proper fee set reflecting the fee agreement, and submit for management inception.Initiate investment management of the accounts by coordinating with Private Bankers and Investment Counselors utilizing both internal and external investment managers. Products include equities, fixed income, mutual funds, ETFs, private equities, hedge funds and real estate vehicles.Work with both internal and external tax preparers to complete and file tax returns for the various types of accounts, including Forms 1041, 5227, 990PF, 1042S, and 1099.Review discretionary distribution requests by interpreting the terms of the trust document to determine the appropriateness of the request.Participate in the completion of the annual administrative reviews of all accounts and update information for each account as appropriate.Comply with all legal requirements and internal procedures in relation to account activity.Communicate effectively with the client and/or the client's attorney on all trust and estate mattersPartner with the Private Banking and Investment teams with regards to the trust and overall client relationship including timely and accurate responses to inquiries.Partner well and build strong synergy with the Trust OfficersEducation and Qualifications

Bachelor's/University degreeRelevant education/certification a plus2-5 years financial services experience in a client service capacity. Direct fiduciary or trust related experience a plus.Outstanding integrity - always doing what's right on behalf of the client while managing risk for the firmExcellent communication skillsSuperior client service skillsSelf-motivated with an inherent sense of urgency to client requestsStrong team player and partnerContinuous improvement mindset to always seek optimization of internal and client-facing processes
