You will be tasked with supervising communications related to order processing, managing MRP functions, and ensuring accurate paperwork processing. Your role will include close interactions with the materials team to address production date discrepancies and any Quality Control hold situations that may arise.How you will do it Supervise Production Control Functions: Lead the Production Control team, addressing daily operational issues that support production needs, including material expediting, prioritizing production tasks, and resolving conflicts that may hinder efficiency. Utilize industry-leading manufacturing systems such as SAP and MES to evaluate and optimize production levels and lot sizes.Material Discrepancy Investigation: Actively investigate and resolve material discrepancies to ensure that production plans are optimized for maximum throughput and efficiency. Expedite high-priority jobs based on production schedules and report job statuses to relevant stakeholders. Collaborate with production schedulers on New Product Introductions (NPI) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO).Management of Materials Master Settings: Oversee management of materials master settings for both existing and newly introduced parts. Work collaboratively with the Production Control staff, Manufacturing Engineering, Production teams, and Purchasing departments to strategize phase-in and phase-out material management. Review incoming production orders meticulously for accuracy and compliance with engineering and production guidelines.System Error Identification and Resolution: Proactively identify and rectify system errors related to production reporting, backflushing processes, and inventory accuracy. Take the lead in coordinating the Annual Physical Inventory with the Production Control team and other relevant production teams to ensure alignment with best practices.Departmental Collaboration: Maintain a strong working relationship and effective communication channels with all departments. Engage with various teams to foster a collaborative environment that enhances overall company productivity.Budget Management: Operate within budgetary constraints while driving efforts to reduce overhead costs and enhance overall financial performance.Lean Initiatives: Support and actively participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives within the plant. Develop and nurture a high-performing Production Control team capable of managing both purchased parts and fabricated replenishment signals effectively to meet production targets.Continuous Improvement: Empower the Production Control team by encouraging collaboration with production teams to optimize consumption processes, ensuring that replenishment programs are continually successful and efficient.Standardization and Training: Create, document, and implement standard work instructions for Production Control staff. Ensure that all team members adhere to established production control processes as outlined in the Standardized Work Instructions. Provide ongoing training and support to equip team members for successful outcomes in their roles.What we look for Associate degree required; a Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. You should possess five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience in production control.
