Job SummaryPerforms skilled painting jobs on furniture buildings and other areas within and/or around the hotel property.ResponsibilitiesQUALIFICATIONS:+ Typically requires a high school diploma and 0 to 5 years of experience.+ Performs work under direct supervision.+ Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.+ Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.+ Oral and written communication skills.+ Ability to understand and follow directions.+ Manual dexterity.+ Ability to lift/move heavy objects.+ Physical stamina.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:+ Cleans and maintains brushes and other tools utilized after every painting job.+ Effectively mixes and matches various types of paint.+ Demonstrates appropriate usage of paint brushes thinner and other tools and equipment.+ Inspects the walls and deciding upon the number of paint coats that will be required.+ Maintains quality and standards of work.+ Applies paint stain varnish enamel and other finishes to equipment buildings and/or other structures using brushes spray guns or rollers.+ Applies primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces such as bare wood or metal for finish coats.+ Mixes and matches colors of paint stain or varnish with oil and thinning and drying additives in order to obtain desired colors and consistencies.+ Fills nail holes joints and cracks in walls with plaster or other filler.+ Covers surfaces with drop cloths or masking tape and removes fixtures such as pictures door knobs lamps and electric switch covers prior to painting.+ Calculates amounts of required materials and estimate costs based on surface measurements and/or work orders.+ Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.+ Requisitions new painting supplies and equipment.Property DetailsJust 9 minutes walk to Union Square, Courtyard by Marriott San Francisco Union Square features modern rooms with early twentieth century architecture in a prime central downtown location.
