ASSOCIATE ELECTRONICS ENGINEER - EL SEGUNDO, CA
As an Associate Electronics Engineer, you will work alongside the Electrical Engineering design team, contributing to the development, testing, and integration of advanced avionics and electromechanical systems. Your role will involve hands-on electronic and mechanical assembly, troubleshooting, and testing of components and subsystems, as well as supporting system-level design verification and qualification efforts. This is a full time onsite position based out of our systems integration lab in El Segundo, CA.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the design, troubleshooting, and debugging of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA), supporting engineering teams in developing and improving new designs.Implement design changes to PCBAs based on engineering schematics and perform detailed failure analysis and root cause investigation at the board level.Fabricate, test, and validate moderately complex wire harnesses and assemblies, including connector installations.Develop, modify, and implement test and acceptance procedures for system validation and certification.Conduct board-level and system-level testing, interpret test data, and effectively communicate findings to engineering teams.Perform hands-on calibration, configuration control, and testing of electronic equipment within the lab environment to ensure accurate performance and compliance with design standards.Support overall avionics system integration and subsystem verification activities, ensuring compliance with safety and aircraft certification requirements.Assist in qualification testing by setting up and checking out test equipment at local Southern California test labs.Collaborate with various engineering disciplines (e.g., Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC), Perception, Systems, Software, and Flight Test) to ensure robust system designs and seamless integration of avionics components.Contribute to design reviews, providing technical insight and feedback on system integration, safety, and performance.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
2+ years of experience in electronics design, testing, or system integration in aerospace or a related industry or equivalent project work.Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium, OrCAD).Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills to convey complex concepts clearly and concisely.Ability to travel within the Southern California area as required for testing and system integration.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience in the design and integration of Avionics/Electromechanical systems within an aircraft environment.Familiarity with safety-critical systems and regulatory requirements for aerospace automation solutions.Hands-on experience with test equipment assembly, calibration, and system-level testing.Previous involvement in a project that successfully achieved safety-critical certification, such as DO-178C or DO-254.WHY SKYRYSE?
