Project Description DRT provides data, technology, and mission support to its federal public health partners. We collaborate to address diverse, complex, and emerging problems within the public health domains of environmental health, infectious disease, chronic disease, and emergency preparedness/response. Our support drives the adoption of emerging best practices and technologies to increase the usefulness and value of public health data. Our team develops innovative data capture and analysis techniques in the field to enhance emergency response efforts all around the world. Job Summary The Public Health Analyst works directly with public health professionals, data analysts, project coordinators, and developers. Using their public health knowledge, the Analyst will apply best practices for epidemiological and surveillance methods to data workflows. They collaborate to design and implement health data systems. Responsibilities Works with data analysts, subject matter experts, and technologists to determine and implement data structures. Conducts quality reviews and testing of data sets and data structures to ensure usefulness for public health analyses. Recommends and implements solutions to meet public health requirements. Collaborates to define and document requirements for public health surveillance data structures and workflows. Represents the public health viewpoint within interdisciplinary teams. Develops and manages a schedule to meet deliverables and establish estimated completion dates. Follows the governments software development lifecycle framework and provides agreed upon project documentation. Completes tasks on time with minimal supervision but supports collaboration across teams. Required Experience Must have or be able to obtain a Public Trust with the US federal government Knowledge of infectious disease or chronic disease epidemiologist and relevant experience conducting public health surveillance, and/or utilizing electronic clinical and lab data to conduct surveillance efforts with public health agencies Knowledge of public health data and related privacy requirements (HIPAA, PII, etc.) Preferred Experience Experience with public health aggregated estimate data Recent experience with HHS data to include the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) environment and standards Education and Training Degree(s) in Public Health DRTs culture is reflective of our core values: Professionalism: Be a leader and someone your customers and colleagues can count on by taking ownership and accountability for your work. Currently due to the remote working status of the federal government, most DRT employees are teleworking from home and leveraging video conferencing along with other virtual productivity tools. Under normal circumstances, most of our positions are required to report onsite. However, DRT has not yet determined when employees will be required to return to their onsite workspaces.
