$30.14 per hour (Plus 4% differential pay)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under direction of Lead Custodian, Lead Swim Pool Maintenance Custodian or Custodial Supervisor will perform custodial related duties. Under direction of Custodial Supervisor and/or Director of Physical Education Department will perform pool all maintenance duties, including maintaining cleanliness of the pool, related areas assigned and equipment.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
•The Swim Pool Maintenance Custodian will also remove rubbish, wash rubbish containers, clean bathrooms, and wash the inside of windows & glass partitions.
•This position will operate power cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, polishing machines, wet and dry vacuums, etc.
•Will assist in loading and unloading trucks and moving furniture.
•This position will also lock and unlock entrances, change light bulbs and remove snow and clean entrances.
•This position is also responsible for requisition and receipt of supplies, maintaining inventory of chemicals, applying chemicals as needed, maintaining safety at all times.
•This position will also handle monitoring and adjusting controls as needed on the pool equipment, manually taking total alkalinity, PH and chlorine readings with approved test kits, maintaining chemical balance of pool water, and refilling chemical containers.
•This position will check filter gauges, monitor pumps, strainer basket, flow meter, chemical controller, pipes, etc, maintain pool water temperature, Clean, lubricate and service chemical feeder pumps Rinse chlorine pumps, check and maintain deck equipment, back wash filters and store/maintain in neat orderly fashion all tools and containers used in pool maintenance.
•This position will set up for sports events and classes as needed.
•Take care of emergency repairs, report any pool related problems to the Facilities Operations Manager and the Director of Physical Education immediately and maintain pool records.
•Perform similar or related duties as requested.
REQUIREMENTS:
•Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
•Be well organized and adaptable to change.
•Must work pleasantly with students and staff, with high regards to customer service.
•Position also requires a significant amount of walking and standing.
•Excellent communication skills are required, including both verbal and written presentational skills as well as good leadership qualities. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and understand the importance of customer service.
•Must have demonstrated the ability to perform duties satisfactorily with minimum supervision.
•Must have the ability to work pleasantly and cooperatively with others. Meal Breaks as assigned by management.
•Perform other duties as assigned by the Custodial Supervisor or Custodial Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
•Must have High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
•Valid driving license required.
•Experience in a college environment is preferred.
•The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 70 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Able to withstand long period of walking, standing, twisting and lifting.
•Must obtain the Pool Operators Certificate within six months of accepting position.
•Knowledge of pool maintenance and mechanical operations preferred.
•Must be alert and possess a chemical and mechanical aptitude to deal with all phases of pool maintenance.
