HATC, The Woodlands . This position will report to the
Technical Service Senior Manager .Job ScopeThe Technical Service Lab Manager for the Advanced Materials division in the Americas will be a pivotal leader responsible for overseeing technical projects, managing technical teams, and driving the successful application of Huntsman's advanced materials products. This role involves providing strategic technical direction, leading key customer projects, and ensuring that technical solutions align with business objectives and customer requirements.In summary, as the Technical Service Lab Manager, you will:Develop
and
execute
technical strategies to support the Advanced Materials division's objectives and growth initiatives.Provide
expert technical guidance and support to the team, ensuring the effective application of Huntsman's products and technologies.Lead
and
manage
complex technical projects, including product development, customer trials, and technology implementations.Ensure
projects are completed on time, within scope, and meet performance and quality standards.Supervise
and
mentor
a team of technical professionals, including Application Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and technical service specialists.Foster
a collaborative and innovative team environment, setting clear goals and supporting professional development.Act
as a key technical liaison with customers, addressing their technical needs, providing solutions, and enhancing customer satisfaction.Conduct
technical presentations, training sessions, and product demonstrations to educate customers and stakeholders.Develop
in-depth knowledge of Huntsman's advanced materials product portfolio and their applications across various industries.Stay
informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and maintain market leadership.Work
closely with sales, marketing, and R&D teams to ensure successful product launches, market positioning, and alignment of technical solutions with customer needs.Collaborate
with global technical teams to share knowledge and best practices.Prepare
and
present
reports on technical project status, team performance, and strategic initiatives to senior management.Maintain
accurate documentation of technical activities, including project plans, customer interactions, and technical solutions.Manage
technical project budgets and resources, ensuring efficient allocation and utilization to meet project goals.Oversee
investments in new technologies, tools, and training to support technical excellence.QualificationsYou must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United
States.Required QualificationsA Master's degree or Ph.D with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field.Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a technical management role within the chemical or advanced materials industry, with a proven track record of leading technical projects and teams.Skills and KnowledgeStrong technical expertise in advanced materials and their applications, with the ability to solve complex problems and drive innovation.Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience in mentoring and developing high-performing technical teams.Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence customers, stakeholders, and senior management.Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.Proficiency in technical documentation, reporting, and CRM systems.TravelWillingness to travel within the Americas as needed.Domestic travel to customers and industry events, up to 20% of the time.International travel minimal, 1-2 times per year.Huntsman is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
