March 2017 SUPERVISES: There are no direct reports with this position. POSITION SUMMARY: Under broad supervision, oversees activities in the management of nuisance pests, disease, vector and health pest, structure damaging pests or organisms, lawn turf and ornamental plant pests, vegetation, invertebrate and vertebrate pests using chemical solutions, toxic gases, powders, pastes or baits, and mechanical traps. Plans and provides day to day guidance for appropriate corrections and treatments. This position may work in multiple locations. TYPICAL DUTIES: 1. *Serves as an informational and technical resource regarding pest control services to field personnel and various customers. 2. *Determine types of infestation based on observation and/or testing. 3. *Determine appropriate treatment method, process, and materials required. 4. *Coordinate with Pest Control lead, Pest Control manager, site manager and/or grounds crews for application schedule. 5. *Ensure that all pesticides are used in accordance with their labeling and safely stored in a secure location not accessible to non-authorized personnel and disposed of in a legal manner. 6. *May be required to train and supervise agents working under the direction of the Pest Controller. 7. *May be required to maintain a database on all pesticide application per state and federal regulations. 8. *Lift, push, and swing nozzles, hoses, and tubes to direct spray over designated areas. 9. *Use of sprayer agitators or pumps or portable spray equipment. 10. *Connect hoses and nozzles selected according to terrain, distribution pattern requirements, types of infestations, and velocities. 11. *May be required to safely set, move, and release mechanical traps to kill or trap pests. 12. *May clean areas that harbor pests, using rakes, brooms, shovels, and/or mops preparatory to treatment. 13. *Clean or service machinery to ensure operating efficiency, using water, gasoline, lubricants, or hand tools. 14. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. *

Denotes Essential Job Function MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of relevant local, state and federal regulations regarding the following: agricultural pest control, spill response, personnel protection equipment including respiratory protection; Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements; Ability to accurately record all pesticide applications; Computer literacy including skill to operate word processing, spreadsheet, and web-based applications may be required; Effective oral and written communication skills, and the ability to present information and respond to questions from vendors, customers, and others; Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; and to present information and respond to questions from clients, customers, and others; Interface with customers to maintain a positive working relationship; Strong communications and interpersonal skills. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or GED CERTIFICATES REQUIRED:? The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements: Commercial Applicator Cert Valid Driver's License ? PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance: Maneuvering to and around equipment Standing and walking Bending, stooping, kneeling and reaching Lifting of boxes or equipment up to 50 pounds Climbing ladders or step stools ? WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed primarily in the field, driving to and from worksite locations performing surveillance, treatments and quality control. Equipment can be located in crawl spaces, rooftops, and outside facility. Employees may be exposed to toxic substances where it is required to wear a respiratory mask which fits snug and close to the face. Additionally, employees may be exposed to noise from equipment, and depending on external weather conditions, wind, rain, cold, and heat. ??
