Capital One's Governance, Valuations, & Innovation (GV&I) Team is a second line of defense function housed within the Credit Risk & Analytics (CR&A) Division. CR&A is responsible for Risk Governance, Risk Appetite, Credit Risk Policy, and Assurance Exam Management activities for the Commercial Bank. The team's contribution is critical in providing a foundation for sound risk management practices, complying with internal policies and regulations and exhibiting the overall culture of Capital One.GV&I is seeking a Manager-level associate with experience executing risk management processes and creating efficiencies by continuously improving these processes, leveraging data and technology. The individual will partner with smart and passionate stakeholders across the Lines of Business, Product, Data, Technology, and Risk to enhance risk governance, controls, processes, and assurance practices, implementing changes that are strategic and transformative for the Bank.This opportunity provides for significant professional growth and exposure to senior management. The ideal candidate must be able to effectively communicate and influence partners across multiple functional areas and levels of the organization. Strong data analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic agile environment are essential to succeeding in this role. The individual will display leadership skills and be able to drive and motivate others in delivering flawless execution.Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Administrating real estate valuation processes, systems, and data through day-to-day management and continuous improvement
Providing business insights and reports that enable stakeholders to make data supported decisions
Supporting delivery of GV&I's change program, including simplification of Policies and remediation of assurance findings
Partnering with the Lines of Business, Product, Data, Technology, and Risk to create efficiencies without compromising on controls and oversight
Formulating and implementing solutions, leveraging on technology as much as possible
Promoting GV&I's learning and culture by facilitating continuous learning activities and team interactions
Desired Skills:Self-starter with a background in Financial Services
Understanding of commercial banking activities and the three lines of defense framework
Strong data analytical skills and and data management processes
Experience creating business insights and reports using analytical and data platforms (e.g., Quicksight, Snowflake) and structured query language (SQL)
Experience in structuring and executing change plans across an organizations complexities and managing stakeholders through the change
Independent problem-solving and discretion
Aptitude for synthesizing complex issues into a clear and concise summary
Proactive and results-oriented
Ability to establish credibility, trust and support within all levels of the organization
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail
Willingness to learn, adapts easily to change and confident with diverse thinking
Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office applications and Google Suite
Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or military experience
At least 4 years of experience in risk management
At least 2 years of experience in business analytics
Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Experience in Financial Services
Experience with Credit Risk management practices including Real Estate valuation
1+ year(s) of experience leading people or project teams
