We are hiring for a Project Engineer to join our
Van Note-Harvey
business and contribute to multi-discipline design projects on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Princeton, NJ. This person will have the opportunity to lead a variety of public and private site development projects across various markets!
Primary Responsibilities:Preparation of engineering design drawings from schematic design through construction documents (e.g.: engineering reports, technical specifications, etc.) as well as municipal site plan submissions and cost breakdowns for municipal bonding.Meet with clients and regulatory agencies.Delegate project workload to Junior Engineers & Drafters; this involves monitoring schedules and budgets to ensure effective completion of projects accordingly.Mentor / guide and support junior-level staff.Complete field inspections, as needed.Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline).7+ years of professional experience working in Engineering, preferably with design projects.PE in NJ (we will consider candidates who are able to successfully obtain their PE within 6 months of their start date).Preferred Qualifications:
Management and/or Project Management experience is preferred.Experience working on greenfield / land development projects.Advanced proficiency with site design functions: site layout, grading, utility design, stormwater management, erosion control, municipal & land-use regulatory approvals, etc.Advanced expertise with stormwater management, especially while utilizing Hydrology and Hydraulics (H&H) modeling tools, is a plus!Proficiency with engineering tools (e.g.: CADD, project management software, etc.); exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D 2019 (or later) is a plus!Proven understanding of relevant NJ regulations (at the State, County, and Municipal level); expertise with stormwater management regulations is strongly preferred.Proficiency on standard office software applications: Microsoft Office 365 (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, etc.Proven ability to look at the "Big Picture" as well the project goals in order to coordinate various design disciplines accordingly.Proven track record of demonstrating punctuality with consistent attendance.Proven ability to work in an energetic & challenging team environment as a collaborative Team Player, especially while maintaining the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Proven ability to demonstrate problem-solving skills, especially when working on a variety of projects while providing solutions to difficult issues.Excellent communication skills (verbal & written); this person will be expected to demonstrate effective writing skills when preparing reports and technical specifications.
