Responsibilities & Expectations:

Integrated Power Services (IPS) is seeking and Electrical Engineer to support the Central Region from the IPS Tulsa Service Center. This position will provide technical leadership and functional support focused on achieving IPS Annual Operating Plan growth and operating objectives. This position will also develop and deploy technologies that advance the strategic vision and mission of IPS and establish uniform specifications and work standards for electric motor in-shop repair and field service functions.

Test and monitor electric motor operational performanceTroubleshoot motor performance issues and failures in-shop and on-sitePerform RCFA on failed motorsDrive the development of electrical work on repair instructions and reverse engineer motor designsLead and participate in redesign projects for various motor typesProvide Electrical technical support to customers, repair shops, and field service activitiesReview and approve coil designs and insulation systemsEnsure that repairs meet customer expectations and applicable industry standardsLead and assist on potential warranty investigations for repair and field serviceEnsure compliance with regulatory standards as specified for NEMA-MG1, IEEE, ASME, ASTM, MSHA, 10CFR-50 Appendix B, UL and CSAInterpret and ensure compliance with operating policies and proceduresSupervise both in-process and final acceptance tests to confirm compliance with IPS/customer specificationAssist with failure and repair reports on motorsAssist with the implementation of quality improvement actionsActively participate in the IPS UCE tier meeting processUtilize Continuous Improvement Process Solution (CIPs) tools and processesQualifications and Competencies:

5 years experience with AC Motors and/or GeneratorsKnowledge of AC & DC insulation systems, coil design- Volts/Turns, Volts/Mil CalculationsKnowledge of High Voltage MotorsKnowledge of Stator and Rotor Core-Loss Testing, AC and DC Hipot Testing, and Surge Comparison testingWorking Knowledge IEEE Standards, IEEE-101, IEEE-43, IEEE-95, IEEE-286, IEEE-522, IEEE-1043, IEEE-1553, IEEE-1434, IEEE-1068 preferred but not requiredHands-on knowledge of troubleshooting AC & DC motor issuesWorking knowledge of flux calculations for AC Induction MotorsProficient with Computer Aided Design programsMust be able and willing to travel up to 1-2 weeks per monthYou'll thrive at IPS if you...
