The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, writing, and coordinating the grant application process for Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans. This position will manage proposals and apply their experience and understanding of grant writing and management. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Write high-quality letters of intent, proposal narratives, applications, renewals, and grant reports for the agencyConduct prospect research to identify new opportunities and solicit new grants that match the agency's priorities Coordinate with program managers and finance department to develop understanding of program's mission and financial needsDevelop and maintain grant calendar of new prospects, letters of intent, proposals, renewals, and reports to ensure all deadlines are metCoordinate and follow up on the progress of submitted proposals and renewalsFacilitate monthly meetings with agency leadership to support the development and implementation of grants strategy and funding prioritiesEnter appropriate data into Raiser's EdgePerform other duties as assignedMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:A minimum of 5 years of experience in grant writing and nonprofit workA bachelor's degree or higher is requiredDemonstrated ability to write successful grant proposalsKnowledge of local and national foundations and corporationsAll candidates for employment with CCANO must submit to a criminal records check as a condition of employment. New employees will be required to complete a criminal background check prior to employment.Compliance with the State of LA Child Protection Act and Archdiocese Policy on Abuse and Neglect, to provide for the safety and security of all clients served by CCANO programs. Certain programs require additional background checks in addition to the Archdiocesan check. These may include the "State Police Check " and" The Department of Education".
