The anticipated salary range for this role is between $156,000.00 and $188,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

Reporting to the Managing Director & Deputy General Manager in the Global Markets Marketing Department (NY). SMBC is aiming to strength the FX and Rates business here in the Americas with Japanese corporate clients, and we are seeking a strong candidate who has an experience to engage with them particularly in FX business. Since the candidate is expected to provide various risk management ideas to the clients, experience of Rates business is preferred. The role will be dual-hatted with SMBC Capital Markets Inc.

Role Objectives: Delivery

Within the Global Markets Marketing Department, the FX Marketer is a client relationship management position, primarily focused on business development for Japanese Corporates in US, Canada and Mexico. Seasoned and proven success in research and writing. Typically participates in strategic decision-making within their specific area of expertise. May oversee more junior staff includes Expatriates from HO. Larger and complex transactions escalated to next level of management.

Complies with FRB, State and Federal regulations.Marketing for the SMBC's existing and potential corporate clients by cooperating with Bank Relationship Managers.Develops strong relationships with customers and Relationship Managers.Helps drive initiatives to build the FX and Rates business.Able to provide daily market commentary and create a dialogue with prospective customers.Motivates junior Marketers and Bank Relationship Managers.Understands clients' needs, and build more efficient systems / rules by collaborating with other Departments.Challenges legacy ideas and provide efficient solutions to the clients.Qualifications and Skills

Expert in FX and Rates derivative products.Expert knowledge of U.S. regulatory requirements.Strong knowledge of market liquidity, currency regulations and risk managementStrong marketing skillsProven success in the development and implementation of FX productsStrong relationship builder; influencing skillsKnowledge of eFX process including execution methodKnowledge of ISDA processExcellent organizational and time management skills; ability to work under pressureExcellent written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills.7 years of comparable relevant experienceFX spot, forward, options marketingsBusiness fluency in English and Japanese
