Real Estate Acquisitions Associate

Job descriptionOur client is a prestigious multi billion investment firm. They seek to hire an associate on the Real Estate Investments team with a focus on acquisitions across asset classes. The firm focuses primarily on assets undergoing changes due to technological innovation, emerging sectors with secular tailwinds and niche themes not focused on by traditional investors.ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting real estate investment opportunities at the asset level. This is a small investment team and the associate will get responsibility across the entire life cycle of the deal.Responsibilities of the role include:Assist in the underwriting and due diligence of new CRE related investment opportunities across the capital stackStructure/Build detailed financial models and asset valuation tools to support investment decisionsForecast operating performance, financial projections and business plan scenarios for deal-specific underwritingAssisting with creating initial screening memos and final investment memos which will be presented before the Investment CommitteeAssist in the preparation of asset-level recommendations for senior managementPrepare strategic plans for assigned properties and contribute to overall portfolio plansQualifications2-5 years of experience of total work experience in real estate acquisitions role, real estate special situations or in investment bankingSignificant financial modelling experienceAdvanced Excel knowledge, including ability to summarize data via formulas, lookups, Pivot Tables, conditional formatting, etc.Strong quantitative skills and demonstrated analytical and problem solving abilityStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
