The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine is seeking qualified candidates with a strong history of academic medical leadership, clinical expertise and scholarship to lead the Division of Pediatric Cardiology and co-lead the Blalock-Taussig-Thomas Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center. The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Children's Center are world-renowned, top-ranked institutions with faculty that are consistently recognized as leaders in their fields.

Applicants should have a passion for innovative leadership and outstanding achievements in clinical care, research and teaching. The successful applicant must share our unwavering commitment to excellence, integrity, collegiality and respect for inclusion of individuals of diverse backgrounds.

The Division of Pediatric Cardiology and the Blalock-Taussig-Thomas Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center deliver comprehensive, innovative and compassionate care from the fetal period through adulthood for persons with heart disease. The Division of Cardiology currently has 13 full-time clinical faculty and one translational full-time research faculty, along with two full-time research faculty who hold Ph.D. degrees, and nine pediatric cardiology fellows. As the birthplace of pediatric cardiac surgery with the historic "blue baby" operation, Johns Hopkins has been at the forefront of caring for children and adults with congenital heart disease, including those with genetic conditions. Researchers in the division, collaborating with colleagues from throughout Johns Hopkins and across the world, are unraveling the mechanisms of childhood heart disease and developing innovative treatments for these disorders. The Johns Hopkins Hospital strengthened its commitment to pediatric excellence with the opening of The Charlotte R. Bloomberg Children's Center in 2012, including 205 beds, state-of-the-art cardiac operating rooms, pediatric and neonatal intensive care units, cardiac catheterization suites and cardiac imaging facilities, as well as a commitment to building hybrid catheterization facilities with operating room capacity.

Qualified candidates must have an M.D. or D.O. degree and be board certified in pediatric cardiology. Our goal is to recruit a talented division director who will also serve as the co-director of the Blalock-Taussig-Thomas Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center, with a proven track record of excellence in patient care and education, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills and scholarly achievement in pediatric cardiology. Candidates should also have experience in health systems integration.
