Job Description:We are working with a client who is a mission partner supporting DoD, Intelligence, and Civil space customers. We are seeking an experienced Assembly Technician to join our client's team.The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of related experience or additional education. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling electro-mechanical products in accordance with engineering instructions, technical manuals, and training. You will also be responsible for performing wiring harness and cable assembly, including continuity checks on the final assemblies. The candidate must be willing to perform other tasks as assigned.
Essential Functions:• Assemble electro-mechanical product in accordance with engineering instructions, technical manuals, and training.• Follow written instruction to execute tasking in a standard and repeatable manner.• Perform wiring harness and cable assembly, including continuity checks on the final assemblies.• Apply technical standards, such as J-STD-001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620, to work performed ensuring manufactured hardware complies.• Ability to use small hand tools, calibrated equipment, soldering/desoldering equipment, and/or meters.• Consistently complete records of work completed in line with good documentation practices.• Requires strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.• Follows documented processes and procedures for proper handling of all material(s).• Candidate must have a willingness to perform other tasks as assigned.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:• Education/Certification: High School Degree or equivalent.• Experience with electronics or cable assemblies preferred.• Experience with circuit board level soldering and desoldering preferred.• Experience with masking, conformal coating, connector potting, component staking, or component bonding preferred.• Must be responsible, self-motivated, and have a solid work ethic.• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.• Demonstrate dependability within a team to complete common goals. • Basic ability in the utilization of computer software such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Physical Requirements:• Occasionally lifting up 25lbs exertion. Standing or sitting for extended periods of time.• Repetitive Motion: Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.• Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents, products, or operate machinery. Additionally, must be able to pass visual requirements per J-STD-001, including both near vision and color vision testing.
Working Conditions:• ESD production environment. Some exposure to machine noise; hearing protection may be required.• Overtime may be requested to fulfill needs.
