The Day to Day as a Consumer Lending Indirect Manager:

The Consumer Lending Indirect Manager oversees all aspects of dealer development, application processing, credit underwriting and funding. Reports to the Vice President of Consumer Lending and is responsible for managing the indirect lending functions of the credit union. This position is responsible for managing indirect lending activities that are consistent with SCU's business strategy and risk tolerances and works with the Vice President of Consumer Lending in the overall growth of the lending indirect portfolio. The Consumer Lending Indirect Manager manages risk associated through proper risk identification, risk management practices and effective oversight. A typical day will look like:

Ensures department's compliance with SCU lending policies and procedures and all government regulations.Coach, mentor, and provide development opportunities for staff.Responsible for accurate reporting of individual and team performance and the monitoring of goals and services standards for the team.Handles complex and escalated dealer issues.Acts as senior underwriter with higher lending authorityDirects and oversees the underwriting activities for all indirect consumer loans and may oversee direct underwriting in the absence of the Consumer Lending Direct Manager.Responsible for the monthly and quarterly performance metrics completion and review of performance metrics with employees to ensure individual and overall production.Plans and facilitates department and individual meetings to relay information, foster collaboration, and develop a high performing team.Monitors underwriting activity to include regular review of delinquency and charge off ratios for each underwriter, ensuring underwriting guidelines are being adhered to.Reach and maintain budget goals for indirect loan volume.Proactively support and coach staff to deliver extraordinary service.Ensures staff is up to date on updated policies and procedures.Works to streamline department processes, seeks out more effective and efficient ways of accomplishing daily tasks, and is constantly aware of costs associated with running the department and searches for effective ways to control or cut those costs.Initiates and recommends changes to processes, procedures, and technology as needed to improve the dealer experience.Ensures that staff is trained properly to process dealer documents accurately and ensure that packets are complete and accurate according to policy and procedures and requirements set out in regulation.Assures that the team processes dealer loan requests promptly and efficiently.Monitor rates and pricing and marketplace for changes in the industry or changing trends and report to management in a manner that allows the credit union to react competitively.Remains on the forefront of technological developments as they relate to automatic consumer lending systems.Coordinates with the dealer representative the marketing efforts for credit union's indirect lending program, including making regular visits to all dealerships, scheduling promotions and working with credit union's marketing department to order giveaways and organize other marketing materials.Creates, runs, and monitors regular reports on consumer indirect lending production, including reports such as, but not limited to, dealership compensation, dealership statistics, dealership production, charge offs by dealership, delinquency by dealership, charge offs by scoring tier, delinquency by scoring tier, consumer loans by scoring tier, back-end product reports, rate surveys, rate verification, AutoCount, and loan extension tracking.Evaluates work of employees, conducts performance appraisals, recommends promotions, reassignments, the hiring of new employees, and related personnel functions. Provides training and assistance to employees to ensure efficient and effective delivery of member services.Perform such other duties and accountabilities as assigned.Are You a Good Fit?

High School Diploma or GEDSupervisory or management experienceMinimum two years of experience working in a financial institution or contact centerWorking knowledge of state and federal lending regulationsPersonal computer experience to include Microsoft Office programsPreferred Qualifications That Could Set You Ahead:

Bachelor's degree in a business-related fieldTwo years of consumer lending indirect experienceLoan underwriting experience with automated lending systems
