The
New Jersey Route Driver
is responsible for providing efficient and safe delivery of boxes to our customers within the NJ Area. A driver operates a refrigerated truck and also operates a hand truck to assist when making deliveries. Our drivers deliver orders to the appropriate destination within a scheduled time. They are expected to provide professional customer service and timely reporting to supervisors and assigned dispatchers regarding lateness, damaged or missing products.
Responsibilities and Working Conditions:
Provide an efficient and safe delivery of boxes to our depots within the NJ areaOperates a refrigerated truck and also operates a hand truck to assist when making deliveriesDeliver orders to the appropriate destination within a scheduled timeProvide professional customer serviceProvide timely reporting to supervisors and assigned dispatchers regarding lateness, damaged or missing productsMust be able to lift 50 pounds.In a workday: standing/walking 6-10 hours or moreHand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pullingWork requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting and reachingExposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals, loud noises, flashing lightsConstant exposure to temperatures:Ability to work in a wet and cold environmentAbility to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as neededAbility to use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machineryAbility to work in other areas of the business as neededEducation and Qualifications:
Must embody and demonstrate company values and cultureA minimum of 2 years of RECENT commercial truck driving experienceNo degree requiredAbility to clearly communicate and read in EnglishMust be able to work weekends (Saturday & Sunday) and HolidaysMust be able to work a flexible shift (mornings and/or evenings)Ability to complete all basic and recurring trainingMust be able to deliver orders up to 50 lbs in weight to the appropriate destination within a scheduled time [this may include walking up or down several flights of stairs]Must be comfortable interacting with customersMust have a strong commitment to customer service and safeComfort /familiarity with basic smartphone operationsAbility to utilize smartphones for two-way communication with our Operations TeamMust embody and demonstrate company values and culture21 years of age or olderMust have a valid NY, NJ, CT driver licenseAbility to prioritize and make decisions independentlyAbility to navigate a route successfully & independently3 points or less on a motor vehicle reportNo suspensions within the past 12 months and no more than 1 suspension in the past 3 yearsNo more than 1 accident in the past three yearsCannot have more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 yearsNote: The hourly range for this role is from $17.00 to $18.00 . Specific compensation for the role may vary based on many factors including but not limited to candidate experience, and skills.
