This position will play a key role providing quality dental care at Promise Healthcare. The primary focus will be examining, diagnosing, and developing treatment plans for infections and injuries to the teeth and mouth. The Dentist in this position must have an interest in delivering care in a community health center and a passion for creating a dental home for those underserved for dental care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide general and comprehensive dentistry services to children and adults

Assist with the development of clinical dental policies and procedures

Diagnosis and evaluate dental conditions and maintaining accurate dental records to support diagnosis/evaluation

Interpret x-rays and treat mouth diseases

Provide restorations and other treatment as needed

Perform emergency procedures on patients to reduce or eliminate pain

Assess treatment options and agree on treatment plan with patients

Instruct/educate patients in oral hygiene and dental care

Assist with the development and implementation of Dental Quality Assurance

Assist with training and evaluating assigned dental staff

Educates individuals in oral health-related conditions and in the general promotion of oral health-related disease prevention.

Expected to consistently work to ensure patient satisfaction and maintain positive relationships

Ability to work in conditions that include exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissues contagious diseases and/or other potentially hazardous materials

Fine motor coordination sufficient to perform manipulative skills

Excellent interpersonal and administrative management experience

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate from an accredited dental school

Knowledge of public health principles and practices

Preferred 2 -4 years of experience in community health center or with underserved populations.

Current dental licensure for the state of Illinois is required

Must have valid driver's license, insurance, and transportation to other clinics as needed.

Bilingual (Spanish)language preferred
