Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician . Ochsner Health is an integrated healthcare system with more than 36,000 employees and over 4,600 employed and affiliated physicians in over 90 medical specialties and subspecialties. It operates 47 hospitals and more than 370 health and urgent care centers across Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and the Gulf South.Position Highlights :The department includes over 50 highly regarded physicians. Within the MFM Division, we have two physicians who are also board certified in clinical genetics and two prenatal genetic counselors. The Division sponsors the only MFM fellowship program in Louisiana. The program is fully accredited and accepts one fellow per year. Our MFM division provides MFM consultative care throughout the New Orleans region and partners with our MFM physicians based on the Northshore in Covington and in the Acadiana region in Lafayette. Through a combination of in person, electronic and telemedicine visits, our team works to ensure that patients in need of access to MFM services have access in ways that meet their needs. Applicants should be board certified/board eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine and have expertise in clinical high-risk obstetrical care, diagnostic obstetrical ultrasonography, and invasive prenatal diagnostic procedures. The residency program accepts 6 residents per year. Participation in resident education is required, and clinical research is encouraged. We have a broad referral area with a well-respected Maternal Transport service. The MFM division also coordinates the Ochsner Fetal Diagnoses and Care program that provides multidisciplinary care in conjunction with pediatric cardiologists, pediatric surgeons, neonatologists, and other pediatric specialists.
