There is opportunity to Interact with traders and senior management- assuring that pricing, hedging, and risk evaluation techniques are applied and monitored.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Monitor, measure, and report market price risks on a daily basis relating to price-exposure from company assets and long-term contracts, wholesale physical energy transactions, inventory, and financial derivativesDetermine market-price risk positions and work with trade desks to minimize exposureValidate end-of-day curves in the risk system and mark-to-market of forward positionsAnalyze and identify P&L and position drivers of various trading books encompassing a wide array of energy commodities and financial instrumentsIdentifies and resolves issues on daily position and P&L reportingCommunicate and resolve risk limit breaches appropriatelySupport requests from internal and external auditorsMaintain margin requirements with clearing banksWork closely with I.T. on risk system (ETRM) improvements and testing new enhancementsEnsure exchange (ICE & CME) and regulatory (CFTC & FERC) compliance
Requirements:Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:Bachelor's degree in business, economics, mathematics, accounting or related field2-5 years of related experienceStrong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:The Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 2-5 years of relevant job related experienceThe Senior Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 5-8 years of relevant job related experienceThe Lead Specialist/Analyst level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience
Preferred Qualifications:Self-starter with ability to work with limited supervisionStrong interpersonal communication ability
Working Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
Usually, normal office working conditions.Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.Occasional overnight travel may be required.Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
