Job Overview
The Production Manager reports directly to the Operations Manager and is a key leadership position that directs and is responsible for the fabrication, assembly and production operation. This position ensures that all daily activities for the assigned production value stream are customer focused and performed safely in a manner consistent with achievement of the plant vision and its goals and objectives. This position is a key decision maker and escalation point for value stream issues or decisions across the entire manufacturing operation. You will collaborate with engineering resources and other support functions (safety, quality, materials, inventory, etc.) on short and long-term improvements to the manufacturing operation.

A Day In The Life
Must put Safety first and be able to lead the culture of a safe workplace
Manufacturing: Set & maintain priorities, vision, and leadership
Provide technical assistance & trouble shooting support to various departments
Some travel is required
Drive continuous improvement through actively engaging employees in areas of waste identification and elimination, incl. use of tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Standard work, 5S+, TPM etc.
Identify & initiate manufacturing improvements
Assist Engineering/Materials/Finance with updating and improving the accuracy of BOM’s, planning parameters, manufacturing routers, manufacturing drawings, and SAP processes
Authorization for Expenditure (AFE): help develop the justification/submittal of requests for new/replacement equipment or facilities
Assist Engineering/Materials in the justification, timely submittal, and implementation of changes
Review/approve tooling requisitions and equipment service contracts for the Manufacturing operation
Assist HR in recruiting and resolving personnel problems
All other assigned tasks
What will help you thrive in this role?
Experience or knowledge in Maintenance including preventive foresight and planning.
Manufacturing/Production or Materials/Production Planning as either a supervisor or manager
Minimum of 5-years experience.
Working knowledge of at least one of the following processes/equipment is required:
Manual or automated assembly processes/equipment
Working knowledge of SAP
Training and experience implementing LEAN manufacturing
Demonstrated skill to read and understand basic component part drawings and basic manufacturing routers
Excellent written and verbal communication/interpersonal skills
Demonstrated skill to read and understand basic bills of material, manufacturing work instructions
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Demonstrated examples of: Initiative, Leadership, Innovation, and “outside the box”
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering General or Other
