We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Associate to join our Affiliates & Subsidiaries team in Credit Risk. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA in a Hybrid work environment.
About the team:
At BNY, the Credit Risk group performs the review, challenge, oversight, and guidance of the firm’s lending activities to our clients. Within Credit Risk, the Affiliates & Subsidiaries team supports the firm’s risk management efforts surrounding our responsibilities for lending to our own BNY umbrella companies.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
Writing, preparing and/or reviewing analyses of creditworthiness of financial institutions owned by BNY, including banks, broker-dealers and asset managers, and mutual funds sponsored and advised by BNY.
Writeups cover purpose of financing, sources of repayment, and quality of collateral (if any) in response to requests for credit directly from an affiliate or subsidiary or through Treasury, Finance, or a line of business on behalf of an affiliate or subsidiary.
Types of financing include loans, lines of credit, letters of credit, repos/reverse repo, term deposits, intraday credit, foreign exchange and interest rate swaps.
Proposing internal credit ratings.
Partnering with Legal to prepare credit and other agreements.
Confirming compliance with applicable credit approval authority policies and all other applicable policies.
Confirming compliance with applicable banking regulations, including Regulation W.
Overseeing the collection and review of financial statements of borrowers.
Tracking borrower compliance with financial reporting and other covenants within credit and other agreement.
Assisting with risk management efforts for the Affiliates & Subsidiaries team. Helping with the development of reporting as needed.
Working closely with the credit portfolio manager.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
Bachelor’s degree is required.
Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other business-related course study preferred.
Strong writing and analytical skills required.
Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills required.
Prior experience/background in credit underwriting preferred

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
