About Us: Good Shepherd Community Clinic (GSCC) is a patient-centered healthcare provider that aims to improve access to mental health services in our community. We are seeking a highly motivated Psychiatric Physician Assistant (PA) to join our behavioral health team and contribute to providing comprehensive psychiatric care to our diverse patient population.

Job Overview: The Psychiatric PA will work closely with our mental health team to provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatments, including medication management. You will play a critical role in delivering quality mental health services, ensuring patient care is comprehensive, compassionate, and in line with the highest standards.

Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, including medical history and mental health evaluations.

Diagnose mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders and prescribe appropriate medications or treatments.

Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and other mental health professionals to deliver coordinated patient care.

Order and interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging when necessary.

Maintain thorough and accurate patient records through the clinic’s EHR system.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with clinic policies and regulations.

Educate patients and their families on mental health conditions and available treatment options.

Assist in the development of treatment protocols and contribute to team case conferences and meetings.

Qualifications:

Essential:

1+ years of experience providing direct patient care to adults and youth/child populations in psychiatry/mental health.

Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program.

Licensed to practice as a physician assistant in the state of Oklahoma.

Possess or be able to obtain a valid DEA and OBNDD license.

Familiarity with EHR systems and proficiency in documentation.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and follow quality standards (HRSA, PCMH, CMS).

Preferred:

Experience in telemedicine.

Familiarity with web-based prescription systems.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform patient care duties, including standing for long periods, lifting, and assisting in patient transfers if necessary.
