Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Neurologist with a dementia fellowship or a general Neurologist with a keen interest in cognitive memory issues to join our multispecialty neurology group located in Sugar Land, TX. The group consists of 6 physicians, 1 neuropsychologist, and 1 psychiatrist, and serves the diverse patient population of Sugar Land, Texas, and the surrounding communities.
Responsibilities:
Provide expert clinical care for patients with cognitive memory issues, including the diagnosis, treatment, and management of neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia with Lewy bodies, frontotemporal dementia, and other cognitive disorders.
Perform comprehensive neurological evaluations, including history-taking, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests, to formulate accurate diagnoses and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
Collaborate with other members of the neurology group, including neuropsychologists and psychiatrists, to provide interdisciplinary care to patients with cognitive memory issues, ensuring a comprehensive and holistic approach to patient management.
Provide patient education and counseling on disease management, lifestyle modifications, and care planning, involving patients and their families in decision-making processes.
Participate in departmental meetings, conferences, and multidisciplinary discussions to contribute to the collective knowledge and expertise of the neurology group.
Maintain accurate and complete electronic medical records (EMR) and comply with all hospital and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited medical school
Completion of residency in Neurology from an accredited program
Fellowship in dementia or cognitive neurology, or a strong interest in cognitive memory issues
Board certification or eligibility in Neurology
Texas medical license
Excellent clinical skills, including history-taking, physical examination, and interpretation of diagnostic tests
Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
