Tax Data GovernanceTax analyzes and supports the activities, operations, reporting obligations and transactions of the firm's business lines. We're a team of specialists charged with managing the firm's worldwide taxes. We are responsible for tax compliance, financial reporting of taxes, tax planning, business advisory and management of taxing authority examinations. Our work contributes directly to the firm's success, and the division is ideal for creative and collaborative individuals who have strong ethics and attention to detail.Job OverviewWe are seeking a talented business and data intelligence professional to assist with design and implementation of Tax datasets within the Tax division. As a data analyst and modeler, you will be working closely with our tax compliance and reporting teams and data engineers to implement and create canonical and Global Tax data models in order to streamline and support Global Tax level data management.You will also be facilitating divisional adoption of the firm's Data Governance Framework which will enable the business to operate efficiently. Your responsibilities will includeAnalyzing and translating business requirements into long term solution data modelsEvaluating existing data systems to create a Global Tax data model for Tax divisionApplying the data governance framework to ensure the design and implementation of business and technical rules produce the highest data quality with a trustworthy data pipeline to facilitate complex tax calculations and tax reporting obligations.Working closely with business partners and technology leaders to evaluate the key areas of data quality improvementBuilding automation and workflows to uplift data control gapsImplementing data strategies and converting logical models into physical data modelsFacilitating and arbitrating the data quality issue resolution cross business and technology stakeholders including external vendorsWorking with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systemsWorking with Tax engineers with development, testing and production

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science or related disciplines0-3 years of experienceHands-on experience with one or more mainstream programming languages (Python, Java, C, Scala, C++, etc.).Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and SQLExperience in a visualization tool such as Tableau preferredExperience dealing with data (structured or unstructured) preferredExcellent communication skills and ability to work with various stakeholdersWillingness to work in a fast paced environmentInterest in applying technical knowledge to Financial Services industryStrong sense of ownership and driven to manage tasks to completion

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience in working with databases (Oracle, Sybase IQ, Snowflake, Hadoop etc.)Experience with Alteryx

Salary RangeThe expected base salary for this Jersey City, New Jersey, United States-based position is $75000-$100000.
