Job Summary:The Clinical Coordinator III reports to a Practice Manager and is a credentialed Registered Nurse (RN) employed by Erlanger Health System. The Clinical Coordinator III is responsible for supervision of all clinical staff members in an Erlanger-owned physician practice.

This position oversees the various clinical and patient flow activities of the physician office, including maintaining proper scheduling requirements, recommending the hiring, termination and necessary disciplinary action pertaining to all clinical personnel including medical assistants, licensed practical nurses and registered nurses employed within the clinic. In addition, this position provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction of practice physicians, and works with resident physicians to promote an effective learning/training environment. Other position functions include:Supervises of all patient triaging functionsServes as lead OSHA representative.Responsible for maintaining Joint Commission compliance standards in all clinical areas, including completely quarterly auditing reportsWorks with Physician Services Administration in establishment of yearly clinical budgetsResponsible for financial and cost effective management and stocking of clinical supplies, medications, and equipmentMaintains appropriate charge levels for patient evaluation encounters, outpatient procedures, injections, administration fees and medical supply chargesSupports other general practice operations in collaboration with Practice ManagerMaintains patient confidentiality in all phases of clinical area. The Clinical Coordinator prepares annual clinical operating and capital budgets, maintains orders, and stocks all clinical supplies and medications for the clinic.

The employee must be credentialed and able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide clinical care appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her clinic. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective to the patient's status. Interpretation of the appropriate information is needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in established protocols.

This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practices' patient population. Participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation.

Education:Required:Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.

Preferred:Bachelor's degree

Experience:Required:Minimum three years experience in a physician office setting. Previous experience with residency program operations required. Previous computer experience. Two years supervisory experience. Experience or training with IV sedation.

Preferred:Previous experience in orthopaedic office or setting.

Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/RegistrationRequired:Valid license to practice registered nursing in the State of Tennessee.BLS completed prior to going to the unit/ department and maintained going forward

The Nurse Licensure Compact will not change how to obtain or renew a Tennessee license. However, the Tennessee nursing license will be a single state license for Tennessee Residents or non-compact state residents. Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.
