Job Summary:
Sr. Demand Forecasting Planner plays a pivotal role within the team dedicated to enhancing Sysco's capabilities in Demand Planning and Forecasting.
This role will serve as a business matter expert to advise on Demand Planning & Forecasting and help create a data-informed and data-driven organization including:
Develop, review, and implementation of accurate forecasts for use in inventory replenishment for the assigned segment.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to synthesize customer inputs, translate to forecast implementation, and measure the performance/outcome.
Implement the continuous improvement of the demand planning, processes, and systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Continuously track performance against the forecast to identify significant trends and deviations within the designated segment, develop and leverage analytics to identify needed forecast changes.
Implement necessary changes and effectively communicate these adjustments to internal partners.
Proactively collaborate with internal and external partners to understand potential assortment and demand changes that would be accompanying with upcoming holidays, events, and business shifts within the designated segment. Synthesize and analyze the inputs with system forecasts and historical patterns to develop the collaborative forecasts for implementation. Effectively communicate the implementation to cross-functional partners and performance track the implementation for sales communication.
Collaborate with team members and managers to recognize opportunities for enhancing systems, processes, and analytics relating to demand forecasting and planning. Innovate, test, and deploy new tools and processes to drive improvement.
Provide training and assistance to Demand Planner on forecasting and planning system, process, and analytics.
Education Required:
BA/BS degree or experience in lieu of college degrees.
Education Preferred:
BA/BS degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Mathematics, or related field preferred.
Experience Required:
Minimum of 5 years demand planning or related experience
Experience Preferred:
Experience working within a retail, wholesale, or distribution environment.
Technical Skills and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of demand planning processes, statistical and forecasting methods, and supply chain management.
Strong mathematical and analytic skills with attention to details, being able to recognize data patterns and sensible with forecasting implications.
Able to take initiative and ownership of assigned work projects.
3+ years of experience with data analysis tools such as Advanced Excel.
3+ years of relevant work experience in demand planning, forecasting, and/or supply chain planning.
Strong communication skills, be able to guide the internal and external audience on complex concepts using storytelling based on data and facts.
