Requirements of the Occupational Therapist (OT):
Must possess, as a minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university.
Must have, experience in a therapist capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility.
Must have training in rehabilitative and restorative therapy practices.
Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in this state
Must be knowledgeable of occupational therapy procedures
Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc., of the occupational therapy service
Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of therapy areas.
Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing therapy services.
Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.
Must successfully complete a post offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical / drug screen.
Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist (OT):
The Occupational Therapist (OT) will screen, examine and evaluate residents, including history, systems review, applications of appropriate tests and measures and interprets findings in order to establish a diagnosis, identify impairments, determine the predicted level of improvement and time required to achieve it, identify precautions and design a plan of care.
Develops appropriate treatment goals and methods in collaboration with the resident and caregivers, implements the treatment plan and completes all related documentation required for those services.
Supervision of Assistants, temporary licensees, students and support staff in accordance to state licensure requirements and professional standards.
Occupational Therapist (OT) will attend and contributes to resident care, staff conferences and other related meetings.
Consults with and makes referrals to other disciplines, agencies in order to address the comprehensive needs of the resident.
Provide exceptional customer service: ensures that resident and families receive the highest quality of service in caring and compassionate environment.
Occupational Therapist (OT) will be responsible for Clinical Programming and for maintaining efficiency standards.
Rehabilitation Techs are utilized to assist therapists with resident transport and administrative functions. The rehab department utilizes Optima Therapy for billing and documentation to assist therapists with daily efficiency where quality care remains the primary focus of each therapist. The facility has a 7-day a week, In-House comprehensive rehabilitation program that is an integral member of the interdisciplinary team. Our rehab positions are stable and secure at one location. Each rehab department offers spacious state of the art equipment and ADL Suites.
