We are also especially interested in candidates who have experience working with diverse populations and/or diverse initiatives .JOB TITLE:Psychiatric Nurse PractitionerJOB PURPOSE:Provide psychiatric and mental health services to students.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Assessment and management of health and illness states. To do this, the clinician obtains and documents a relevant health history, performs a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, and diagnoses psychiatric disorders. The clinician then develops a treatment plan for mental health problems and psychiatric disorders based on biopsychosocial theories, evidence-based standards of care, and practice guidelines. Psychotropic and related medications are prescribed based on clinical indicators of a patient's status, including results of diagnostic and lab tests as appropriate, to treat symptoms of psychiatric disorders and improve functional health status.Coordinate referrals and ongoing access to primary and other health care services for patients.Provide consultation to and seek consultation from other health care clinicians to enhance quality and cost effective services for patients.Maintain patient's electronic medical record and accurately document each patient encounter.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:Participate in medical staff meetings and roundtable presentations; maintenance and promotion of AAAHC accreditation standards; guidance to SHS support staff; guest lectures as need arises.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION:

Master's degree in NursingEXPERIENCE:

1-3 years of nursing experience preferredLICENSURES, CERTIFICATIONS, REGISTRATIONS, OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:National certification in degree specialty (AANP or ANCC).RN with APRN RecognitionState of Wyoming Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner LicenseDEA RegistrationWY Controlled Substance RegValid CPR certification (cardiopulmonary resuscitation)In order to comply with rules and regulations from the Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services, employees who work in the University's units that serve Medicaid and Medicare patients will be subject to the federal mandate that requires these employees to be fully vaccinated or have an approved religious or medical exemption.If you are selected for this position, the University will provide information regarding how to submit proof of your vaccination to the University and information about how to request a religious or medical exemption from this mandate, including any medically approved reasons for delaying the vaccination.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge of best standards of practice, including State and Federal laws and regulations that apply to the provision of health care and local and national trends related to college health.Knowledge of holistic preventative health principles.Primary care principles and practices to include clinical operations and procedures.Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA, FERPA, the Clery Act, Title IX, OSHA, and federal sexual assault regulations.Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse community.
