RN, Service Line Supervisor, Full Time DaysPOSITION SUMMARY:
The Service Line Supervisor assumes accountability for the patient care, operational and human resource management in the OR. Position assists with the quality of care measurement standards provided by the OR. Position supervises OR staff and ensures staff education needs and staff compliance with mandatories are met consistently and timely. Position functions as liaison between physicians, physician offices and hospital to develop strong, efficient working relationships. Provides collaborative support between the Operating Room, Same Day Surgical, SET, and PAC U units departmental/staff functions/issues as needed. Serves on multidisciplinary, appointed task force and service line committees.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor`s degree in Nursing required. Current/valid State of New Jersey license (or legal permission to work from the New Jersey Board of Nursing. CPR certifications.
EXPERIENCE:Minimum 3 years RN experience in peri-operative setting required.
SPECIAL SKILLS:Current and valid New Jersey Registered Nursing License. CNOR Certification, Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, BLS. Ability to manage a changing work environment as a result of changing patient needs, including working with patients with acute, chronic, and complex disease processes, and those who are dying. Proven interaction and communication (oral, writing, presenting) skills to effectively communicate (oral and written) with patients, family members, physicians, visitors, and co-workers during day-to-day, stressful, and emotionally changed situations. Demonstrated competence, clinical expertise, and sound professional judgment. Demonstrated ability to work independently and cooperatively with health care team members (i.e. , physicians, Rehab, Respiratory, DI, Lab, etc.) and diverse patient populations. Ability to use effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations. Demonstrated ability to use effective analytical and critical thinking skills to problem-solve, make clinical decisions, and respond quickly to meet patient care and departmental needs.
