Medical Director

to join our team at the

Harbor Community Health Center in Plymouth.

The Medical Director will provide leadership to the clinical staff as well as maintain a clinical practice of 24 hours weekly. Harbor Health will be expanding our site space in Plymouth in late 2024, including a new Retail Pharmacy!

Under the leadership of the Chief Medical Officer, the Medical Director provides leadership and management for the clinical staff of the Health Center as well as provides primary care, including routine health maintenance, management of chronic conditions, and management of acute illnesses to patients in the centers

Responsibilities:

Recruits, supervises and evaluates all primary care and specialist provider staff- physicians and nurse practitionersProvides orientation for all newly recruited provider staffAssists Human Resources Director in provider privileging and credentialingProvides primary care services in accordance with the staff physician roleAssists in the development, implementation and management of the annual visit budgetAssists with the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical and related policies and procedures for both the Centers and Harbor-wide communityRecruits, supervises and evaluates Provider Managers. May also function in role of Provider Manager for a clinical departmentUnder direction of the Chief Medical Officer, assumes a responsible role in operational improvement and problem solving in health center operations, including clinical care, access, utilization and visits, staffing, patient scheduling and financial issuesAssists in development, implementation and monitoring of quality improvement plan and efforts-including peer review, meeting TJC standards and other compliance and regulatory agenciesResponds promptly to staff and patient complaints about standards of practice and quality of careAssists Chief Medical Officer in strategic planning, implementing agency mission and ensuring patient focused approach in operations of the center. Represents provider perspective in planning for program changesOversees medical management process in the center, working under the guidance of agency medical management approach.Responsible for working with providers to implement changes including practice transformation, systems improvements, value-based contracts, and population health.Requirements:

Current MA MD/DO License, Family Physician highly desiredCurrent MCSR and DEA, current BLS (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers)Minimum of 5 years primary care experienceBoard CertifiedExperience in a community health care center preferredPrior administrative experience including budgeting and supervision of clinical staff experience preferredExperience with Electronic Medical Records system, EPIC/OCHIN desiredIntermediate MS Office skillsAbility to handle multiple requests and prioritize appropriatelyFluency in another language a plus, especially Vietnamese, Brazilian Portuguese, or Spanish
