Originally founded by two emergency room psychiatrists, Dr. Chris Carson and Dr. Robert Williamson, Connections Health Solutions brings 30 years of experience serving individuals in crisis and operates two of the nation’s largest and most studied crisis response centers and is currently expanding to more states.
Since opening our doors, we have provided care and treatment for hundreds of thousands of individuals in crisis.ResponsibilitiesWhat You'll Do:
The
Psychiatrist-Telehealth
will direct, coordinate, and provide medical/clinical services to assigned individuals within the facility including but not limited to: Psychiatric evaluations and assessments, differential diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, ordering testing, engagement, family meetings, supportive psychotherapy, individual education, risk assessment and discharge planning.
This position will provide support and direct clinical supervision to psychiatric nurse practitioners and physician assistants while on duty.
They will have an interest in supporting the quality of services provided throughout the organization by participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Complete initial full psychiatric assessments, crisis interventions, family interventions, focused crisis diagnostic assessments, assessments of capacity for consent to treatment, risk assessments, individual education, progress toward treatment goals, and discharge planning including medical, psychological, social, behavioral and developmental aspects of the consumer’s care, treatment, and services.
Document individual’s progress in the clinical record in progress notes.
Write orders related to the individual treatment plan, including admission orders, discharge orders, and medication administration orders.
Oversee delivery of medication education and consent, according to established policy.
Order laboratory tests according to standards of clinical practice.
Review the health assessments completed by nursing staff.
Obtain a past and current medical history, and conduct a focused physical examination as indicated, according to established guidelines.
Initiate contact with Primary Care Physicians and Emergency Room clinicians according to professional standards and established guidelines.
Assess individual's needs and guide the clinical team while managing treatment plan updates, in addition to initiating contact with Outpatient Behavioral Health Provider according to established guidelines.
Review and utilize all available documents from the crisis clinical team.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to ensure each treatment modality is appropriate for the individual.
Actively participates in activities intended to improve the quality of services within the organization in the form of providing or attending clinical didactics and providing direct supervision to advanced practitioners, students, residents, and other members of the clinical staff.
Conduct emergency examinations within 2 hours of patient involuntary arrival.
Be available for telephone consultation within 1 hour at all times.
Actively participates in medical governance through membership in leadership and quality committees and/or subcommittees as needed.
Participates in medical staff meetings including regional and quarterly meetings; participates in all required meetings; and participates in any meeting as requested by Medical Leadership.
Collaborate with on-site Certified Registered Nurse Practitioners (CRNPs), who provide 24/7 coverage for initial assessments and services.
Be available at all times to evaluate patient conditions, prescribe treatments, and provide ongoing consultation to CRNPs.
Will supervise three (3) NP/PAs.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
QualificationsWhat You'll Bring:
Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine
4 years of post-doctoral experience, to include approved psychiatric residency training programs, in the delivery of mental health treatment of adults, children and/or adolescents
Licensed by the Pennsylvania State Medical Board
Eligible for Board Certification
Unrestricted DEA license
Must pass the following background checks
Child Abuse Clearance
FBI Criminal Background Check
Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check
Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
The Company has a mandatory vaccination policy. All successful applicants must be fully vaccinated, including showing proper documentation, or otherwise be exempt pursuant to the Company’s exemption process prior to their start date as a condition of employment

Board certified in Psychiatry
Addiction-credentialed physician or physician with experience in addiction medicine
